This is the original song from 2014 on which a feature film project of the same name was based. The song is about a man who discovers that a male friend is in love with him. Joven Tan, who wrote the song, also wrote and directed the feature film. The original title "Pare, Mahal Mo Raw Ako" is unofficially translated as "Buddy, they say that you love me". The film was released on June 8th, 2016 in the Philippines and has not been released on video yet. So we will have to do with the music video for now. The performer of the song, Michael Pangilinan, who also plays the straight friend in the film, is a well known personality in the Philippines.
